Director of Communications Wendy Lindars has spent her entire career working in the communications industry. As Yang to Nicole’s Ying, Wendy is the one who works behind the scenes to make sure everything’s running smoothly. When a new page is created for your website, a blog entry is written, or you suddenly see a page gain some traction on search engines, that would be the work of Wendy. A born storyteller, she has a way with the written word. Her copy has just the right balance of keyword placement, educational facts, and storytelling that will make your website visitors become clients.
She started at the bottom of the newspaper industry, working as a special correspondent for a local newspaper in the Poconos and quickly rose the ranks to become head of the copy desk at the Daily Local News in West Chester, PA. After spending six years working as sports page designer and copy editor for the Times Leader in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Wendy headed back to school to get her Masters in Communications at Marywood University. While working on her masters, Wendy interned in the marketing and sales department at the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts in Harrisburg, PA and volunteered as a public relations assistant for the Everheart Museum in Scranton, PA.
Times were tough for the newspaper industry and Wendy knew she had to change with the times and that meant starting at the bottom again. She began a job as an assistant to the director at a nonprofit cancer wellness center in Wilkes-Barre, helping with the marketing and communications of the nonprofit. She helped get funding for the nonprofit through grant writing, raising approximately $30,000 for the nonprofit. It was here where she learned social media marketing and web design.
Wendy is a featured contributor for Business2Community.com and recently received certification in addiction treatment marketing from the Behavioral Health Association of Provider. A Google Partner, Wendy is a member of Women Techmakers.
She has two cats, Pepper and Oliver, and is known to love David Bowie, rattle off movie and pop culture references off the top of her head, and idolize Wonder Woman.
